Sensei Joseph Winn
I began training at the
University
Karate
Center
in 1996, just before entering middle school.
Using what I learned from my lessons, I was able to avoid any possibly
violent altercations throughout my middle school years.
During these years, karate was my main activity, and I dedicated all the
time I could spare. My efforts were
rewarded when, in 2000, I was awarded my Junior Black belt at the age of 15.
I was then attending
Plantation
High School
, and only my closest friends new of my rank.
I graduated in 2003 as salutatorian of my class, and am now attending the
University
of
Miami
, double-majoring in Marine Science / Computer
Science. The most important thing I
can say is that without the discipline learned through karate, I would not be
where I am today.
